Spotlight On: Taofick Okoya, Queens of Africa Dolls creator

When his daughter told him she wished she were white, which he attributed to the fact that her storybook characters and toys were white, the Nigerian entrepreneur decided to create black role models. Designed after the three biggest tribes in the country, the dolls represent a different progressive value meant to empower black girls in their youth and in their careers. The Queens of Africa dolls are available in various outfits; traditional attire the most popular.
